Cozy Up with these Fall Beverages!

The temperatures are beginning to feel a lot like fall, y'all! What better way to stay warm than to try out some delicious fall drink recipes that you and your family can enjoy! We at Lindyspring Lake of the Ozarks have selected a few of our favorite hot beverages that we think you'll like. So plan a get-together around the fire pit and try these "fall' beverage recipes that'll have your family and friends feeling warm and cozy!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients:

Latte

2 oz brewed espresso or brewed strong coffee
2 Tbsp Pumpkin Spice Latte Base
1 cup whole milk or milk of choice, steamed
Sweetened whipped cream, for serving
Pumpkin spice, for serving (optional)

Latte Base

½ cup tightly packed demerara sugar (dark brown sugar)
½ cup water
½ cup pumpkin puree
2 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp pumpkin spice
¼ tsp salt

Directions:

Latte

In a warm mug, combine espresso and latté base. Top with steamed milk. Serve hot with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice, if using.

Latte Base

In a medium saucepan, warm water and sugar over medium heat until sugar is dissolved (about 2 minutes). Remove from heat and whisk in remaining ingredients. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar. Seal jar and refrigerate for up to 1 month. Shake or stir before use.

Hot Cranberry Tea
Ingredients:

3 1/2 quarts water
1 (12 ounce) package cranberries
2 cups white sugar
2 oranges, juiced
2 lemons, juiced
12 whole cloves

Directions:

In a large pot, combine water and cranberries. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes. Add sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon sticks. Cover, and steep for 1 hour.

Slow Cooker Chai Tea

Ingredients:

15 slices fresh ginger root (about 3 ounces)
3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
25 whole cloves
15 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
3 whole peppercorns
3-1/2 quarts water
8 black tea bags
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

Place first five ingredients on a double thickness of cheesecloth. Gather corners of cloth to enclose seasonings; tie securely with string. Place spice bag and water in a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low 8 hours. Discard spice bag. Add tea bags; steep, covered, 3-5 minutes according to taste. Discard tea bags. Stir in milk; heat through. Serve warm.

Honey Spiced Latte

Ingredients:

1/2 cup ground coffee
1-1/2 cups cold water
1-1/3 cups milk
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons molasses
4 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:

Place ground coffee in the filter of a drip coffeemaker. Add water; brew according to manufacturer's instructions. In a small saucepan, combine the milk, honey, molasses, sugar and spices. Cook and stir over medium heat until steaming. Remove from the heat. Transfer to a blender; cover and process for 15 seconds or until foamy. Divide among four mugs; add the coffee. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.

Vanilla Almond Hot Cocoa

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
2/3 cup baking cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 cups 2% milk
2/3 cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Miniature marshmallows

Directions:

In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, cocoa and salt. Stir in milk and water. Cook and stir over medium heat until heated through. Remove from the heat; stir in extracts. Serve in mugs with marshmallows if desired.
